I purchased a couple of these for steeping specialty grains, and I'm curious about how people go about cleaning them. I was thinking of just throwing them in the washing machine but then wondered if the laundry soap would be a factor. So I figured I'd ask.

I use Oxyclean. I have a gallon wide mouth jar that I throw the grain bags into, and add a scoop of Oxyclean. Let them soak overnight and rinse in hot water.

Also, the nylon mesh bags at the hardware store that they use to strain paint work really well for brewing. Get some one gallon and some five gallon sizes.

Good Luck...

I spray all the grain out using my kitchen sink sprayer, then dunk in Oxiclean. Sometimes I soak overnight. Then rinse & hang to dry. Easy...
