Does anyone know if I can simply get BIB syrup from Sam's Club or elsewhere and just empty it into a keg, fill with 5 gallons of water and carbonate to get the same quality of soda I would at a restaurant? Sorry, I have no idea what the ratio needs to be, etc but was at Sam's today and saw the BIB and wondered if that was possible. Thanks in advance for the input!

pre-mix is nothing more than post-mix syrup mixed with water. that's why it's called pre-mix......

yes, you can mix syrup and water together in a corny and force carbonate. most syrups are a 5:1 ratio (5 parts water, 1 part syrup), diet syrups are usually a 5.5:1 ratio but it will specify on the bib box what the mixing ratio should be.

for 5:1, 3 quarts syrup and 15 quarts water in a 5-gallon corny works well.
