If you think about it, brewing beer is like buying a futures contract. I've read discussions lately, about per bottle cost of home brewing. I like to think about the economics of brewing as paying money today for something that I will partake of tomorrow. My $40 today fixes the future value of my buzz, which might cost more in the future. Plus, it's insurance against hard times.:mug:

I've also heard it said that homebrewing to save money on beer is like buying a boat to save money on fish. Maybe somewhere down the line it will get a lot cheaper, but for now I do it because I love creating something with my efforts.
