I've got a graff (apple cider juice + dme) which I just finished pitching into and putting in my ferm chamber. I think it'd be nice to add a little bit of bitter hop flavor to it. I've also got a spare ounce bag of sterling which I think would work well. Can I simply boil the sterling in water for an hour or so and then add to the carboy? Anyone know a better way?

Search for Hop Tea.

Its essentially like you stated, boil the hops in a small amount of water, cool it, pitch it.
