I just tasted my first brew batch. A Summer Wheat All-Grain 1 gallon batch from a kit.

It had a very good thick creamy flavor with a hint of citrus aftertaste but seemed to have a very strong Hops finish (almost bitter).

Having never tasted a Wheat beer before, I really have nothing to compare it to.

Would this be normal for this style of beer?

Not normally but if you tell us the recipe, we can determine if the hop additions are appropriate for the style.

Most "to style" wheats have very low IBUs, typically just a single 1.0 oz hop addition per 5 gallons. You are definitely going to have to post the recipe to get a good answer on why it tastes bitter.
