where do you get those colored stickers for top of bottles?

any office supply store is likely to carry them. i think, in theory, they are for marking file folders but they happen to be the perfect size for bottle caps. they are pretty common, we got ours at CVS, and most have adhesive that is pretty rugged if you dry the tops first. if you expect to be indelicate you can also buy "tough-tags". these are meant for lab use and are resistant to freezing to -80 and boiling. i used them for awhile (i'm a scientist so i have them laying around the lab) but i've found the cheap ones work just fine.
