After reading Brew Like a Monk and Wild Brews, I became interested in the idea of using square (open or closed) fermentation vessels. BLAM indicates that they may change the pressure on yeast and the amount of beer & yeast contact that taller-than-wide circular vessels.
Has anyone tried anything like these before?
