Hello,
I've been reading this site for a while and I've gotten some great advise.
I'm just starting out but hope to move up to all grains within the year (too fast ?).
You guys seem like a great bunch and I hope to share my stories ( as soon as I have some). Are there any brew clubs in Long Island?

Chris

Hi Chris, good to have another New Yorker on board. Not sure about the Island but Westchester has one but I've never gone :(

these 2 links contain lists of homebrew clubs. Im looking into clubs in westchester but so far all of the clubs websites have been down and I cant get any info.
As for going all-grain, go for it! I actually started with AG it was intimidating at first but not really as hard as it sounds. In my experience its pretty hard to completely ruin a batch (I havent lost one to date). If you can find some clubs in your area they should be able to make it even easier.

+1 on the AG It sounded realy complicated but we went to a seminar at our then LHBS and thought hey thats prety easy. Its more labor intensive and requires more equipment but I def prefer it over extracts.
