Brewed this up last night. Hit a nice OG of 1.61 with slightly higher then intended final volume, so I managed to get a little more then my usual efficiency. Was the smoothest all grain session to date, even inspite of the amount of homebrew consumed :D:drunk:

Checked on it this morning and the airlock is happily bubbling away.

A few notes: The recipe template is for an 80/- Scottish ale, the closest I can get to what I'm brewing. Boil volume is listed at 4 gallons for hop utilization calculations - I use two pots, 4 gals boiling in each, but only add hops to one of them.

interesting choice of ingredients for a Scottish Ale? why no Golden Promise or Maris Otter malts?

it still sounds and looks good!

The recipe is tailored around what I can easily get at my LHBS, so no GP or MO. I'll definitly keep that in mind though, as I'm thinking about making an order for some MO in bulk.

i love the marris otter too. i think my next batch will be 12 lbs MO, .75 lb British Crystal 45 or 75, and a but load of Cascade!
