I've read a lot on growing hops and am ready to give it a go. However, One thing I have not found the answer to is whether, or not, the hop vine (bine?) will grow well across a 4' tall chain link fence. I have a lot of fence real estate available and would like to grow 2 or 3 varieties. Do I need to separate them by any great distance? And, finally, I'm open to suggestions as to what varieties to grow. I'm leaning towards Fuggles, Centennial and Cascade...

You'll have to do a fair amount of training because no matter what you do, they'll want to grow up, but it can be done.
I have two plants on my chain-link and harvesting is SWEET.
I have a Chinook and a Centennial on the fence, and I would suggest separating them by 30' at least.

and you can see the Chinook at 13:45 - it's a lot bigger this year.
