Cracked my first brew today of a altered "box kit". It was a Brewers Best English Brown Ale, but I added 8 oz. of crushed Roasted Barley to the recipe. I know it wasn't much, but it did change the taste alot. It is black, very black! And it taste like a cross between Guinness and Arcadia Nut Brown Ale. Thin but drinkable, I have a winner in my book!

congratulations! as you can see, a little bit of certain specialty malts can radically change a beer.

That's the true beauty of this hobby: The only limit is your imagination! The options are endless!

The first time you come up with a list of stuff, throw it in the pot and it comes out tasty, thats the stuff dreams are made of.
