They seem popular, but I, for one, would think twice before drinking anything with a skull on the label. Nice work though. Is that photoshop or something else?

thanks for the replies. i used illustrator only. i like it much better than photoshop for something like this. if i put a unicorn on it would you drink it? :)

I've never used illustrator. I'm pretty good with PhotoShop and it's hard for me to break away from my comfort level. I've messed around with Freehand a bit and the whole thing seemed like a battle - lol.

It's nice having a vector though - you can resize it all you want for any application. Is Illustrator fairly intuitive?

And ya, I'd most likely drink from a unicorn bottle - lol.

The skull is a big part of the international poison symbol - that's my biggest issue with it – and being black and white makes it all that much closer. IMHO It's fine for a home brew, but if you have higher aspirations, making an adjustment now might be a good idea. An animal skull with horns or something might be a better choice and it gives you similar imagery.

…but that’s just me. Others may totally disagree.

i was huge on photochop as well, then a friend convinced me to make the switch. wow.... ill never go back. i mean the ability to manipulate photos is by far a photoshop task, but for creating raw images from scratch, illustrator hands down. as for the international sign for poison, maybe the label will keep sticky hands out of my ice box :)

i did this too, i was gonna use it as my sig, but we cant us images in sigs. :( oh well too bad

Use that image as the little label strip around the bottle neck. Just modify it so it's a little concave.

these 2 programs work best as a team IMHO, especially with the new features Adobe added with the CS2 releases. I wouldn't turn my back on Photoshop ;)
nice work!
