My 5 gal cider batch is one day into fermentation and the "krausen" I think it is called is going up into the airlock. Now what do i do ?

And is this the worst or is the krausen going to get more violent In the next few days ...?

Thank you
Kevin

I've never made a cider with anything other than Montrachet, so I am not experienced with overly active fermentations on ciders. However, I've experienced my fair share of airlock-filling krausens on my beers. That being said, most likely this will get worse before it gets better. My beers would tend to settle down 3-4 days into it.

Your best bet would be to remove the airlock and attach a blowoff tube.
