I ran some (properly mixed) pbw through a plate chiller and I let it sit inside for about two days. When the cleaner came out of the chiller it was blue. Also, the chiller was recently put in the oven for a good cleaning, but it was rinsed thoroughly after it cooled. any ideas? :mug:

The PBW liberated some of the copper brazing material, not enough to cause problems but enough to make the water blue with copper hydroxide. If you are concerned with residual copper hydroxide in chiller, soak inside with sodium bisulfite follwed by hot water flush.

sorry... i know this is a dead thread but the same thing just happened to me. wondering if sodium metabisulfite can be used instead of sodium bisulfite?

or even better (easier for me) what about starsan?
