I have had great success with a very similar, and seemingly complex malt bill for an india brown ale, I modified the bill slightly and came up with this. There is just a flavor that the english crystal and two types of chocolate malt give a beer that is very delicious and distinct......... I am hoping that the C10, Caramunich and Victory combo ads distinct "buttered toast/bread" component to the beer.

Let me know what you think......

Seems like a complex recipe, but the percentages of base/crystal/specialty all seem fine. I'm not sure where the buttered part of the bread will come from, but you'll certainly get some toasted/crust/bread character from the malts. Hope it tuns out well, good luck.

I am brewing this up this weekend, and I am really thinking about changing gears and turning it into an over the top, 70 IBU, india brown ale.

I am thinking something like this

1.5 oz magnum at 60
1 oz centennial at 15
1 oz cascade at 15
1 oz centennial at 5
1 oz cascade at 5
1 oz centennial at FO
1 oz cascade at FO

maybe a 3 ounce ammarilo dry hop?

any thoughts?

I'm a huge believer in Special Malt in brown ales. I feel like it just adds a little something extra to the beers.

And an India brown ale is always a good decision. I love hops.

Added the 1 oz centennial dry hop yesterday, gravity was 1.016.....LOOKIN GOOD! Smells even better.
