I'm planning to brew a batch of Milk oatmeal stout (using a recipe from here) and put all the ingredient data into Brewtarget-1.2.3. so I can get experience using the software. The recipe is below with the readings also
Light Dry Malt Extract 4.5 lbs
Black Patent 8 oz
Chocolate Malt 12 oz
CARAPILS 8 oz
Lactose 1 lb
Oats, Flaked 1 lb
Fuggle Pellet Hops 1 oz (60 min)
Fuggle Pellet Hops - 1 oz (5 min)
Windsor Yeast
Irish Moss - 1 tsp
Original Gravity: 1.052
Final Gravity: 1.024
IBU: ~17
Color: ~35 SRM
Brewtarget - 1.2.3. readings are:
Original Gravity: 1.054
Final Gravity: 1.013
IBU: 10.4 (This is the greatest difference)
Color: 37.5
Brewtarget lists it as "cloying"
Are the brewtarget readings points of concern for me? I'm just trying to understand the whole process. Thanks for the help.
