Hi guys, I was wondering if I'd see any difference between adding vanilla extract to the primary after the initial fermentation is done, versus just adding it to the bottling bucket?

If I add it to the primary should I mix it with water and boil it first?

I'm not sure I see an advantage to adding it to the fermenter; I've only ever added extract flavoring at packaging time (keg). For the same volume of extract used, adding to the fermenter would end up making the flavor slightly more dilute since you'll leave some beer behind when transferring for packing.

As for process, sanitize outside of container, pour in to bottling container (or keg, in my case) and rack beer on top.
