I need some input from someone in the know. Planning on taking a ski trip to Lake Tahoe in feb. with the SWMBO. I am curious if Squaw Valley could keep us entertained for three days or would 2 days there and a 3rd somewhere else be a better plan. Any other input that could be useful, about the Squaw Village or anything, would be much appreciated. Cheers!

I knew you couldn't keep away from snow!! You missed one of the sunniest summers in Buffalo history! We are going to ellicotville tomorrow for Octoberfest. Hope all is well in the south!

Go to Breckenridge CO. I lived there for 6 years, never got bored once! Great open terrain. I think your ticket gets you into VAIL as well as Keystone, A-basin, copper mnt. All owned by the same company.

Alpine Meadows is pretty close to Squaw Valley and is a large resort. Heavenly Valley is closer to the border. You can ski both sides of the mountain into Nevada.

Squaw will keep you entertained for 2 days easily. Heavenly, Alpine, and North Star are all decently close and have some excellent runs.

I agree that Squaw Valley will keep you entertained for two days, depending on what you like to do. Down at "state line" where Heavenly is, there are a few big hotels. Most have clubs, night life and casino's. Either way, if the snow is falling the trip will be great.

There is plenty of terrain at squaw to keep you entertained for a few days, but like others mentioned, Alpine Meadows is next door, and others ski areas are really close so I think I woudl opt to check out at least one other area. Little know is a smaller resort Homewood, or Heavenly Valley at South Lake with Great views of lake Tahoe.

Reno is close and the Great Basin Brewery in Sparks (right next to Reno) makes some great beers.

There's also the Brewery At Lake Tahoe, 3542 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Decent beers and good pizza.
