Wyeast 2633 WTF?

I picked up a AHS oktoberfest kit with wyeast 2633. The kit arrived on one of the hottest days of the summer and sat on my porch for I don't know how long. I brewed everything that day on 7-21-2010. I popped the yeast pack and waited for three hours and got nothing no Co2. I figured I would pitch it anyway. As of 7/25 I had no airlock activity. So i went to a LHBS they suggested I double pitch WL octoberfest problem is when I got home the airlock was bubbling, and the temp inside the fridge was up to around 60. I'm dropping the temp now. Am I screwed with this batch with off flavors?
 
maybe leave it a little longer in the primary to work out any diacetyl or off flavors which may have been generated
