Does anyone have a list of the proper glasses for stiles of beer??

Here's a basic chart....BeerLoverCam.com (web cam) Still Lives - Types of Beer Glasses

But like within the Belgian Category there are a bunch of glasses...

There's also two types of pint glasses....

The British style with the bumps...

and then pretty much the standard american brewpub pint.

No, i wasn't the one with the rant, but i read it too and was inspired to be as smart-a$$.

Okay, i really didn't have to be inspired to be one, but it seemed like a great chance.

Beer advocate has a pretty good basic primer on beer glass styles.

They also have a pretty reasonable "6 pack" of beer glasses. If I did not already have most of the styles in it I would get it as a good starter.

Another way to get them (which is where I have gotten most of mine) is at thrift stores/garage sales, etc...

Didn't they (buttwiper I mean) come out with their own glass that was a rip off of the sam adams glasses with the oxygentation bubbles in the bottom and stuff?

More Belgian Beerglass porn...:rockin:

I'm sure they did put out their own glasses, but a can has always been good enough for me when drinking butt-light.

Some of those glasses scare me. I think i'd struggle with drinking from them after a few of the bigger belgians...

Interesting.. so my question is.. what is this glass?(the one on the right, the one on the left is my drinking glass for comparison) They were my wife's grandfather's glasses. Many a bottle of Pottsville Piss Water went into them.

As have I, but I still wonder if/what was the purpose of the right one. He was a crotchety OCD German so the shape could have meant something, or it could have been just what he had on hand and never bothered to buy new glasses. He passed about 8 years ago so I can't exactly ask him. He/my wife are from the Tamaqua/Hazelton/Pottsville area. I think up that way the only beer allowed is Yuengling.

Anyone have a source for getting a custom two color screen done on glasses? I am trying to get some 1/2 litre Willi Bechers done with my brewery name. I love how clean the screening is on the Stone Bottles.

My german buddy tells me "das boot" means "the boat" like the movie of same name.

Those taller glasses are more fun to watch then use. When you get to the bottom the beer gets a hell of a run at your face. I don't particularly like beer my nose, or up my anything for that matter.

It's a stiefel, the main people who drink out of this are the masons guilds when they meet up for their annual sessions. Drinking from a boot is a brotherly pursuit.

Did you know that the stiefel in Beerfest is actually a 3 litre boot that was specially made for the movie?

My friend has the 2 litre one. I am going to take it on one day. I'm thinking I could down 2 litres of Guinness on nitro in one shot.

Yeah that is correct I think it was a joke by the OP.

It would actually be (subject to correction on the sex of the object) Der Stiefel.

I don't even know the movie, I lived in Germany for 6 years and worked in bars, cafes and hotels there.

It's normal to get them up to 5 litres.
