It's been 3 weeks (1 week in lagering off yeast) and my Oktoberfest still doesn't have that nasty rotten egg smell. I got it both times I used 2306 Munich Lager.

Does 2206 not have that nastiness to it? Even stiffing my saved cake it doesn't smell nasty.

I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong .. but a nasty rotten egg smell is usually a sign of infection and spoilage.

Call me the corrector ;)
Rotten egg smell is sulphur, sulphur smell occurs quite often with lager yeasts, some more than others.
