I will most likely be moving within the next 6-8 months (military) and want to use up some of my spare grains/hops laying around so I don't have to worry about packing/shipping. Yes I could bring it with me, but our stuff could end up in storage for who knows how long, not climate controlled, just not worth it to bring with. I also have several gallons of beer on hand that needs killed off before the move (not a problem).:mug:

What I have laying around:
Grains
9+lbs - Carapils (no idea how I ended up with so much!)
2.5lbs - English chocolate malt
4lbs - 120L
5lbs - 80L
3.5lbs - 60L
4.5lbs - 40L
4+lbs - 10L
2.5lbs - Red wheat
2.5lbs - Victory
2.5lbs - Dark Munich
4lbs - Vienna
10lbs - 2 row

Hops
1lb - Cascade whole hops
8oz - Mosaic whole
12oz - Centennial whole
3oz - Columbus pellet
1oz - Chinook pellet
2oz - Cascade pellet

Was going to buy another 50lb bag of 2 row, but again, don't want to lug it around to move and won't be able to make/drink enough before I'm gone most likely. Could donate the leftovers if I have too....

So, crazy frankenbrew I'm thinking of trying....no real category other than maybe a dark Imperial IPA?

Amt Name Type # %/IBU
4 lbs Caramel Vienne 20L (Briess) (20.0 SRM) Grain 1 25.0 %
2 lbs 8.0 oz Caramunich III (Weyermann) (71.0 SRM) Grain 2 15.6 %
2 lbs 8.0 oz Chocolate Malt (Simpsons) (430.0 SRM) Grain 3 15.6 %
2 lbs 8.0 oz Victory Malt (25.0 SRM) Grain 4 15.6 %
2 lbs 8.0 oz Wheat - Red Malt (Briess) (2.3 SRM) Grain 5 15.6 %
2 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 6 12.5 %
1.00 oz Chinook [13.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 7 39.3 IBUs
0.50 oz Mosaic [12.30 %] - Boil 40.0 min Hop 8 14.9 IBUs
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 30.0 min Hop 9 12.8 IBUs
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 20.0 min Hop 10 10.1 IBUs
0.50 oz Mosaic [12.30 %] - Boil 10.0 min Hop 11 6.1 IBUs
1.00 oz Mosaic [12.30 %] - Boil 2.0 min Hop 12 2.9 IBUs

Have experimented with plenty of my own recipes in the past (most great and no dumpers) but never one with this many specialty grains thrown together. Is this even worth trying or should I stick with what I know is good? Beersmith figures this to be 1.081, nearly 9% ABV, and 87ish IBUs with my equipment profile.

Your wisdom is appreciated!

Wow,way more spec malts than base malts. You will get a very chewy beer from this.
