I have a bunch of bags of different types of milled grains but they're getting oldish (like 2-3 months). My question is: what's the shelf life of milled grains? Do people use grains left over from previous batches, or is it best just to start fresh? Thanks.

I order in bulk and keep grains as long as possible.

I also ordered pre-crushed.

I've never had grains go longer than 2 months, so not sure about how long they'd go.

I say...keep em stored in an airtight container, keep em dry and out of the light, and they shoudl be good for quite some time.

Also, if you are just using them for steeping then they should last a considerable amount of time. Taste them, if they taste stale don't use.
