I was watching an old western movie called Rio Bravo with John Wayne and Dean Martin and they were drinking beer out of swing top bottles that looked to be about 1 liter size and it got me wondering if those swingtops really existed in the old west days. Does anyone know how far back the swingtop bottles go?
