Hello from good ol' Bartlett, Illinois. It's a happening place...

I've been lurking here a few weeks, as I am just getting re-acquainted with the home brew world. I started brewing 11 or so years ago, but more school, kids, moving, and home improvement caused a real dry spell for the past 5 years. Still brewing extracts here, but ready to try my hand at AG. An igloo MLT is in the works. For now I've got a porter in secondary and am planning to start an APA next week.

I'm amazed at how much home brew info is available on the web these days! It seems like quite a bit more than when I started. This place alone has been a one stop shop for info and beer porn! :D

Prost!

Welcome - I'm living in Des Moines now. I'm originally from Brookfield.

There are several good websites for brewing.

You also have several good HB shops in the area.

Stay connected to this board and you will learn alot!!!

Thanks, folks.

I have been working through How to Brew, Palmer is quite thorough! I've been concentrating on the hop utilization section since I've been full-boiling kits designed for partial boil without adjustments. I never realized the hopping might be affected by a full boil! Midwest brewing is new to me, but morebeer and austin homebrew are old friends.

c u around!
