Nice "IPA" aroma and taste, very quaffable session ale. Low alcohol allows you to enjoy a few pint while still making the most of your summer.

Hey Pickles,

No updates other than this remains a great beer. I have brewed this beer several times and it is a crowd pleaser for sure.

Brew it up for yourself and post your results.

Hey nicadrick looks like a great recipe for a session beer. I was wondering if to do a 5 gallon batch Would I just cut the amounts of grains in half. It's my second all grain and I don't know if that would work or if there is a special way to do that.

It is a fantastic beer. I can workup a 5 gallon recipe and post it later this evening. Halfing it would get you close, though.

Alright cool I'll check back and see if you post the 5 gallon recipe. If not ill cut everything in half. I'll let u know how it comes out I'll be brewing this in the next 2 weeks hopefully and thanks for the quick response.

As requested:

Please note I always include and extra 0.5 recipe to allow for trub and dry hop losses, hence the 5.5 gallon recipe volume.

Looks great all I need to do now is get all the grains and hops. Thanks for the revised recipe I'll let u know how it comes out

Nice recipe, I'm going to try a recipe based off this myself.

What does the golden promise bring to this? I don't have any of that and have tons of 2 row so was thinking of just doing 9lb of 2-row.

I don't have Columbus and Citra so planning on using some simcoe and centennial. I know it will be a different beer with those changes, but I hope to use some of what I have on hand and still make something that is a session IPAish beer :) Thanks for the inspiration.

Let me know how yours turns out.

Golden promise is like 2 row with flavor and a bit more character! :) I'd say it add it adds a bit more sweetness to the finish, like pilsen does, but not quite as pronounced character as marris otter would.

My original brew of this beer was simcoe instead of the columbus and citra. Simcoe yes, go easy on the centennial, you want this to be simcoe and summit forward on the nose and palate when you are done.

Cheers!

Rather than substituting all 2row for the GP, I would go 8lbs 2row and up the C15 to 1.5lbs.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'l do the changes with more crystal 15 as you suggested. Not sure when I'll get a chance to brew this, but I need to get something on tap soon :)
