Hi guys, hope you can help me with a hydrometer question and hopefully avoid some bottle bombs!
My latest batch is a John Bull Master Class - India Pale Ale. This is a 3kg all malt exctact kit that you do not need to add any extra sugars or anything too.
My O.G. was 1.040, which i thought seemed a little low (though I still cant figure the readings out all that well) after a week in primary the gravity reading is showing up as 1.010 and holding very steady. This is outside the range acceptable to bottle according to the hydrometer, have I a stuck fermentation or is the markings on the Hydrometer missleading? (It has a coloured band to show normal OG level and another for acceptable bottling level.)
I have racked this to secondary (first time using a secondary) but there is no noticable airlock activity. What do you guys think?
