Hello all. I am making a couple of Stone clones tomorrow, 1 is the Russian Imperial Stout and the other is Ruination, however they call for WL002 Yeast and all I have is Wyeast 1056, 1098 and 2112 they are all the large Activator packs. If one is acceptable can I split it into 2 starters because I only have one of each! Thanks!

Rumor has it that what they use is closer (or is) to WLP007 Dry English Ale. The attenuation would suggest this. I don't know about Wyeast products but maybe see if you have one similiar to that.

Wyeast 1098 = WLP007
Wyeast 1056 = WLP001
Wyeast 2112 = WLP810
and yes you can split it into two starters but they may have to be stepped up to get a decent pitching rate, don't believe you can do that overnight.....

as for me i'd probably go with the 1098 in the stout and 1056 in the ruination but its your choice
