Got a new Nema 4, 16" X 14" X 6" control box for free from a friend that works for an institutional greenhouse contractor. I wanted just a box, but all he had was a leftover shade control box fully wired. The whole thing is brand new and the box is nice. I am wondering what use I can get out of the guts.

It has a fan and vents installed in it, so that will work for my SSR's.

It has 3 din mount 24 volt relays that are for 1/6 hp 120 v motors or 1/3 hp @ 240 V - possibly pump control instead of SSR's ?

There is a 1 amp supplemental circuit breaker

There is also a Telemechanique variable speed drive for an asynchronous motor. Here are a couple of links...

It sits on a heatsink with its own separate fan and is programmable for speed settings. I don't think its any good for heating elements since it does not have the amp rating and its for inductive and not resistive loads.

Its new, so I guess I could sell it on ebay. there is also a circuit board that controls the operation of the shade to open, close, off and auto which operates at 24 volt.

I have an electric herms system that i just finished, but I am always looking for better ways to do things especially when they are free.

I am not an expert but I wonder if the variable speed controller could control the speed and therefore the flow of your March pumps. If it can the panel would be super useful. The relays could also be used to turn on and off your pumps.
 
Sawdustguy, that is what I was wondering as well.

Like you said, I was hoping the relays would be fine for the pumps since they don't cycle as much as the elements and are low power.

Worse case, the box is perfect , with a nice fan and vents already installed with a DIN rail.

Hoping that some of the electronics / electrical experts may know more about the usefulness of the variable speed drive.

I could always buy a 240 V March pump if it would work with the speed controller. I understand that Asyncronous motors are induction motors, which I thought the march type pump motor would be induction ?

Any thoughts ?

I am not an expert but I have read about a guy who controls his pump with a light dimmer. I son't know if that is an indication. This is unfamiliar territory for me.
