No-welding electric heating element?

So i am making an electric keggle and i was going to use one of the standard heating elements everybody seems to use, but i am confused how people attach them for no leaking w/ welding? Any thoughts...

My heating element screws into a 1-1/4" panel nut (used mostly in electrical work). You could use one of those inside the keggle to secure the heating element. Use a high-temp o-ring on the outside to get a good seal.

For this do i just drill (or punch) the 1 1/4 hold then screw into that or do i need to weld something?

You just make a 1-1/4" hole in the side of your keggle, put the heating element through it, and tighten the panel nut on the inside to secure it.
