Trying to get an idea on what is the best or most common used sparge method you guys are doing for a 5gal batch? Trying to get my equipment together for my first AG brew. Thanks for any help!

you will need at least a 7 gal pot (28 Qt). I use a 7 1/2 gal pot with anti-foam drops.

Ok, then I will have to look for a good price on one of those. I can then use my old pot (extract brew pot) as a place to put my sparge water? What size cooler?

I just got a 60 Quart Igloo Cube. It was cheap and plenty big enough for 5 gal brews. You can even do some smaller grainbill 10 gal brews if you want, but in reality you could probably get by pretty easily with a 40 Qt. if your going to stick with 5 gal, but my motto is I'd always rather have way to much than not enough.

I just got this in the mail and used it for my first AG batch. worked great and for the price it couldnt be beat. I just didn't use the steam screen that comes with it.

32qt (8g) pot for under $30 with free shipping. just be sure prep it by boiling water in it before your first brew. I think it has to oxidize the aluminum, not sure i just know you need to do it and it turns a dark grey.
