As it says in the title, my brew has been frementing for almost 2 weeks. When I go to take the gravity readings on consecutive days, what is the best way to do that without messing with the brew?

Should I just dip the sanitized hydrometer into the fermenting bucket? Or should I take a sample of the brew in a sanitized cup?

thanks for the help!

You can use a thief, or just put the hydrometer into the beer. However you do it, make sure you have your tools sanitized.

I used to also use a sanitized turkey baster until I got a thief and a refractometer.
