Hey gang,

Just getting started and have gotten through a few batches... some decoction to boot with good results.

I'm looking for a good Erdinger Heffe or Dunkelwiess clone.
Specifically, I'm looking to brew a smooth bubbly wheat without as much of the distinct banana/clove heffe flavor.

Erdinger has been my favorite for some time and the Dunkel is amazing.

Let me know if anyone knows what I'm talking about and has any suggestions.

Thanks!
Brian

This really is a great beer. I'm sipping one now for the first time an I immediately went to the recipe list to see what I could find. Nothing. Damn!
But here's my best guess:
4# Pilsner Malt
3# Wheat Malt
5-8oz 80L Crystal Malt
4oz Chocolate Malt

Bitter with a Golding, Fuggles, Bullion, or Northern Brewer 10AAUs
Hallertau at 20 and 10 mins in low quantities maybe 0.5oz each.

The bottle had a nice yeast ring so I'm going to try and harvest from it.

Mash at 155.

I think its carbed too much but its like a lite Newcastle Brown.

I've just gotten started in wine making, and since I had some equipment now, I wanted to start brewing some beer too. But I told myself I wasn't going to do it unless I can make some Erdinger Dunkel. Anyone had any luck with it?
