The ultimate car thread got me to thinking about all the cars I've owned over the years. (I still haven't gotten my beloved Austin Healey 3000)

I decided to make a list to see if I could remember them all. I don't think I left any out.

(in order of when they were acquired)

1969 VW Bug
1964 Chevy Impala SS
1974 Chevy Vega
1964 Chevy Impala SS
1976 VW Rabbit
1972 Triumph Spitfire
1970 Chevy Truck
1973 Ford Courier
1971 VW Super Beetle
1972 Pontiac GTO
1973 Ford Capri 2600
1969 Pontiac Catalina Station Wagon
1970 VW Bus
1978 Pontiac Catalina 4-door Sedan
1973 Ford Capri 2600
1989 Ford Festiva
1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500
1974 MG Midget
1991 Mazda Miata
1968 Triumph Spitfire
1994 Mazda Miata
1987 Suzuki Samurai
2000 Mazda Miata

23 cars total from 1979 to present.

1996 - 2003 Orange and white (and rust) colored Ford Bronco II
2004 - Present Nissan Quest

Yep, a huge list.

In comparison, my ex- FIL had owned 26 cars by the time I knew him. And probably spent $1000 total to buy them. Classy guy, he was.

I've had all sorts.

Some of the more interesting ones have been.

While I seemed to have pretty much landed on and stuck to Jeep and Harley, my father-in-law is a dealer in North Florida and owns/owned several junkyards in the area. He seems to live for unique cars. He had one of the first SMART cars here in the states even before they where "legal" - had to keep Canadian plates and registration on it for over a year. Right now he is real big into different "minis" from the UK. I don't even know what most of them are - one of them is this tiny truck with a flatbed. He also has an Indy car that has been modified to be street legal. It is pretty damn cool but uncomfortable as hell to drive - it is a tight fit.

In 40 years, only five plus two motorcycles. I drive them until they fail. Still pi$$ed I had to donate my '89 Civic wagon. Only had 204,000 miles on it, but California couldn't find a copy of the title & Oregon won't let an individual re-title a car.

I'll probably have my Sprinter van the day I die. They routinely go a half million miles.

Only 11 cars and three motorcycles. Not so many when you consider I've been driving for 35 years. I tend to keep my cars in very good condition and drive them for years. I also tend to buy two cars at a time when I replace them. The last two cars I bought were a pair of Jeeps (Wrangler TJ and a Cherokee Sport) in 2000, and that was the third time I'd purchased two cars at the same time. They are still in great shape and going strong, so I have no desire to replace them.

2001 volvo s40, still have it and is my everyday driver.

the rest were company cars(past ten years), or clunkers(highschool/college) that were titled to someone other than myself, but i maintained them and payed for insurance.

In order, since ~1996.

1984 Jeep Cherokee - Don't miss at all! A 2.5L engine is to small for that car.
1989 Subaru XT-6 - Miss it dearly.
*1995 Subaru Legacy - Sadly, this will probably be the last year because the frame is rusting.
*1995 Subaru Legacy Wagon - My wife's daily driver.
*1982 Suzuki GS-450 - It's been in storage for a few years. With gas prices, I should probably get it running.
*1987 Dodge Van - My dad gave this to me when he bought a truck. Last year I put 300 miles on it.

* currently own

Ugh, I've only been driving for 6 years and I've had 5 cars. All crappy except 1....and I totaled it :(

1st car 1990 Isuzu Trooper (loved that car and still wish I had it....even though it was a clunker)

1986 Toyota MR2.....this old guy in my neighborhood gave it to me for free because I mowed his yard....it didn't last more than 2 months....wish I had just parked it and waited until I had money to fix it

2000 Dodge Stratus....My grandpa was getting up in years and decided he didn't need a car so he gave it to me....was the only "good" car I've ever had.....I totaled it after only a couple months...was the only accident I've been in (why did it have to be THAT car??)....my grandpa still thinks I have it

1969 baja bug...was a sweet car but needed a bit of work.....owned it for quite a while but couldn't give it the attention it needed. so I had to sell it.....the only car I've ever sold

1994 Volvo 940.....my current car....it works but I'm not a huge fan....no ac...but non of my cars have really had it....not that great of gas mileage...but it gets me around. Hope I can save up enough scratch to get a new car soon...

Next car Unknown but the wife is wanting another M-3 so probably 2009 M-3.
When I sold the CBR I was promised another Bike "when we can afford it," We have been able to afford it for a while, but now her excuse is "the kid needs a car soon, that will make the insurance too much" or "you are too old for a bike that powerful" (I am into "rice burners")......Funny thing is when we met the thing that brought us together (in Japan in 1986) was we both rode ZX4's (that's how we met).. Women suck when they get old!
