I am thinking of making a beer with both honey and Light DME.

Right now i am looking at 3lbs of each. Anybody have any advice on this?

according to papazian, you should consider keeping honey to under 30% of fermentables otherwise you're venturing into mead territory (technically a braggot) and it won't really taste like beer.

4.5 of DME + 1.5 of honey = 75/25 mix.

fyi, using honey as a fermentable will not result in honey taste in your beer. it will ferment out completely and will dry out your beer. you should consider using honey malt if you want honey taste.

funny enough, there is another thread right now on a very similar subject: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f37/honey-instead-extract-306355/
