We're hosting a dinner party a week from Friday, with the theme being stout and food pairings. I put together this menu. Much of it can be made a day or two ahead of time.
Appetizers at 7 pm - paired with an Irish stout (homebrewed)
bacon-wrapped cream-cheese-stuffed jalapenos
pico de gallo, guacamole and chips
kimchee deviled eggs
olives
Dinner at 8 pm - paired with a barrel-aged imperial stout (homebrewed)
roast beef and blue cheese on toasted sourdough, open-faced
Brussel sprouts with bacon and balsamic vinegar
parmesan and garlic smashed potatoes
green beans sauteed in butter
Dessert - paired with a chocolate pineapple stout (5 Rabbit)
slow roasted spiced pineapple
