Hood thermowell or stopper thermowell

I'm about to buy a thermowell, but I don't know which type to buy, the hood or the stopper thermowell (see links below). I would imagine they both work, but is one generally better than the other? I've never used a hood on my carboy before, so i'm unfamiliar with it. Any experiences or knowledge would be much appreciated.

I use the hood since it fits both my glass and better bottle carboys without having to remove the thermowell. I can go from the primary to the secondary without having to change the setup.

I have the stopper one and have used it in a hood but it is nice to not have to get the stopper on and off frequently, especially if you have a mix of glass and plastic carboys. If you're using buckets, then the stopper for sure.

I use the stopper. I use my bucket more than a carboy. But the stopper fits both.
