1 gal batch

1.50lb pale 2 Row
0.15lb Crystal 80
0.15lb Chocolate malt
0.05lb Black Patent
0.25oz Willamette (60 Min)
0.20lb Milk Sugar (10min)
1 Qt Maple syrup(10min)
English Ale WLP002

Est OG 1.056

How will the maple effect my OG? How many points we talking?

I'd estimate 32pppg for maple syrup. One quart probably weighs about 2.5#, maybe a little more. So in a 1gal batch you're looking at raising the OG by 80 points.

I made a brown ale with 2qts maple syrup in a 5gal batch - it was pretty awesome but took at least 6 months for the intense (almost gaggy) maple flavor to mellow and marry with the rest of the flavors. It was like an Imperial Stout when it was done.

Perhaps you need to think this brew through a little more?

Well I was totally open to changing the maple. So I will go way less then. mb the really small can they offer at the whole foods by me. This is meant to be a test batch so I can dial in when I make it into a 10 gal batch.

I recently put 16 oz by weight (I didn't measure the volume) of grade b maple syrup into a 3 gallon batch and it added .010 to my OG.
