That should work fine, a Wyeast or White Lab with a starter will work even better.
 
Nice choice, it is a good kit. It's the one we make for the BMC drinkers but even the real beer drinkers like it. You are smart to switch out the yeast and you can't go wrong with 05. You might want to check into late malt addition if you want it light colored. It's pretty light anyway but the late addition makes it more so.
 
You can use any yeast with any beer pretty much, especially with a super-light beer like that. California Ale yeast would be my choice, but as small as that wort will be I doubt the yeast will be active long enough to produce any noticable flavor contributions.
