This is my first recipe, and I looking to make a brew that I can give out at christmas, here it is.

6.6 lbs light malt extract

2 lbs 2-row malt
1 1/2 lbs crystal malt
1/2 lb caramel 60 malt

2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole clove
2 tsp ground ginger
2 Tbsp bitter orange peel

3oz Kent goldings hops (bittering)
1 oz Hallertaur hops (aroma)

1/2 teaspoon Irish moss

Wyeast European Ae yeast

Does this look good for a christmas ale? Should I had more or less of the spices? I was thinking about adding nutmeg but I thought it would be too overpowering.
thanks

I'd add some allspice if I were you. It's a nice beer spice IMHO. Also, I wouldn't waste KG on bittering...get a bittering hop, but be careful: spices and hops can clash like crazy. I'd add your aroma hops 8-15 mins before the end of the boil, so as to subdue their effects.

Also, and this is a personal thing, but I'd add some chocolate malt to darken her up and add some roastiness to the mix.

Other than that, it sounds good!
