I realize I could go there but I am not willing to pay 350 dollars for one. I was wondering if anyone had went to a local winery to buy decommissioned wine barrels.

I have some recycled wine barrels from Calif. located in Durham, CT. They are made from French oak, and hold about 55+ gal. e-mail me at [email protected]Barrels are $99.00 each

I would check out local wineries in MA, I think I remember the tour guide saying they rotate out their barrels after three or four uses. Going rate is around 100 to 200 for a used one. Def try to get one that was just emptied though, the wood won't be so dried out and it will leak less.
