my first batch of beer tastes a bit yeasty what could i do to take most of the yeast taste out of the beer

Since it's your first batch , I am going to go ahead and say... wait. Chances are you just are a little too anxious to drink it, let it set another week or two and give it another try.

Primary 14 days at 65 to 67F. No secondary needed.
Then bottle or keg it.
