I'm taking a stab at making hard cider.

Using cider mill cider, uv pasteurized.

I'm at 48 hours past pitching the yeast, and don't see much activity. using Nottingham ale yeast.

I did put a small amount of grocery store apple juice concentrate in, and now I'm wondering if that had some preservatives that may have hurt the yeast. I used 1/4 of a frozen can.

thoughts? thanks

Temp? Any yeast nutrient? I never have more than a couple hours before Notty begins its dance. I always pitch dry (no starter) at about 68 deg.

Temp's around 66-67. No yeast nutrient. I've got some small bubbles in the airlock and some foam at the top of the cider at this point

If its bubbling and your seeing a small krausen its likely a good sign. Day one mine has a light foam on the top 1/4 inch. Next day its three inches. My temp is 66-67 as well. Can you take a pic and post it?
