Washed some Wyeast 1056 yeast on Saturday and would like to use it 48 hours later without making a starter. I gathered 2 oz of yeast. Can I use washed yeast 48 hours after harvesting without making a yeast starter? I really would like to brew on labor day w/o making a starter. Is 2 oz enough for 5 gallons of 1.052 beer?

Check "pitch from slurry" amounts on yeastcalc.com or mrmalty.com. It should still be plenty fresh after 48 hours...

I should have added the information that I cannot get either yeast calc or mr. malty to run on my computer's operating system. I actually have 2 two oz jars of washed concentrated yeast slurry.

fwiw, the MrMalty calculator requires a Flash player to function.

Here's a screen capture of your numbers plugged into the MrMalty yeast application using the default settings. 95 ml is around 3.2 ounces...

Cheers!
