I brewed this oatmeal cream stout last week and transferred it to secondary today. I did the taste test and it was strange. First I got this nice sweet taste then like a firecracker going off the roasted flavor hit! For those who have brewed an Oatmeal Cream Stout -- is this normal? I am not worrying, just curious, really. It was actually quite tasty for such a young beer and I know it will take a bit of time to mellow out. Anyway, would appreciate anyone's input when they made something similar.

One thing is for sure, I think I should have upped the oatmeal in this recipe! But, that's ok, I guess I'll just have to brew another one soon! :tank:
