Hey howdy hey HBT. I'm brewing with a friend from work on Monday, and we're going to try a black RyePA. The goal when we first began recipe formulation was a black ipa\CDA, but then he tried Wookie Jack. Needless to say, things changed. He decided to try some rye in it, so we tweaked and this is what we've come up with.

~65% eff
mash 150
60 min. boil

13 lb 2 row
1 lb Munich
.5 lb Victory
.5 lb Rye malt
.5 lb Chocolate Rye
.75 lb. Carafa Special III (stirred in before vorlauf)

.75 oz Chinook @60
.5 oz Mt. hood @60
1 oz Cascade @15
.5 oz Willamette@15
.5 oz Mt. Hood @15
.5 oz Mt. Hood @5
1 oz Cascade @5
1 oz Columbus @5
1 oz Columbus, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Chinook during whirlpool
Dry hop same as whirlpool addition

Ferment at 67 using wlp001, raising to 70 after a week or so to help attenuate fully

The goal is to not have took much roasty flavor in this, but it's my first time using chocolate rye so I'd like to have enough in it to get a taste for it. He wants to use mainly PNW hops, and I've used and like most of them. The Mt. Hood is an exception, I've never used them before so i tried to scatter them through the whole beer.
Anyone have any experience or insight on these hops? Any other tips in general? Like i said, its going down Monday so i can still make any last minute tweaks. Cheers!
