Any reason that a Sweet Stout would have a real tingle on your tongue?

Just brewed my first one all-grain and when I was bottling tonight I gave it a taste. It actually tastes good but there is a strong tingle sensation to the first few sips of it.

I added 1lb. of Lactose to the last 25 minutes of the boil. This was Jamil's Sweet stout by the way.

Any ideas? Will this go away?

I'm not sure I can offer any help, but what do you mean by tingle?

Are you talking about a tannin taste? Dry?

I just remembered that this is the beer that a couple of leaves fell into the boil:cross: I'm sure that has nothing to do with it but it does make me wonder a little.

I'm sure it will be fine, right?:drunk:
