Hi there,

Just re-discovering homebrewing beer out in Trinidad & Tobago. The selection of beers out here gave me the motivation and my first brew is still in the primary (will not secondary). It is a partial extract / mashed grain mix golden ale which I have not tried before, but it seems to be going well.

There are no home brewing stores or clubs in Trinidad. In fact besides those making rum in their back-yard, I suspect I am one of the very few out here trying to brew beer. Raw materials and equipment are difficult to come by, so will be keen to here from people who have used non-typical malts / ingredients which may be sourced outside of specialist home brew stores (ingredients for the current batch came via a friend travelling through Houston).

Look forward to getting involved in the Forum.

Matt

Welcome :)
You could also try making mead or cider as you could get the ingredients, minus the yeast, from the grocery store.
As for the yeast, you could order dry yeast from any number of online outlets. The dry yeast is easier to ship long distance and has a longer shelf life than the liquid strains.
If there are any "heath food" stores near you, you might be able to find some of the other ingredients to make at least a few different styles.
I'm sure others will chime in on other ingredients.
