I have an ingredient kit that I purchased from NB and it says to mash my oatmeal stout at 153*. That seems low to me; I would have expected 156* or so to get more body. Anyone have an opinion?

I would have expected 154-156 as well, but the oats will add some mouthfeel. Maybe check Brewing Classic Styles for JZ and John's take?

hoping that a thread revival can help someone in the future: i started a mash at 152 and held for 30 mins, then raised to 154 for another 30 minutes. fly sparged w/ 170° water to get 6.2 gals, then boiled down to 5.1
