Where I live they both chlorinate and fluoridate the water.
I have a Pur water filter that I got at CostCo to help get most stuff out of the water.

What I have been doing in the past is pouring filtered water into my brew kettles then boiling the water for about 45 minutes...

I made a batch of beer last night, but I didn't have the time to get 7 gallons of water boiling (take a LONG time) and let if boil for 45 minutes.

So I just filtered the water, brought it to 160deg and threw my grain bag in.

Aparantly the Pur water filter willg et the chlorine out.
So do I need to worry about some off flavors in this batch or is the Pur water filter sufficient?

For the most part, if your water (post pur filter) tastes good to drink, it will not have any negative effects on your beer. Our well water tastes fine, so I dont even filter it.
